Do they seriously think that we all would believe that the Blue Angels won’t fly because the military is TOO POOR???

English: Hillsboro, Ore. (Aug. 15, 2004) - The...

One big word for that… BULLSHIT!!!

I mean seriously, how stupid do they think we are?  If the greed mongers that control the world did not want to give the bay area an air show this year at fleet week, couldn’t they at least have come up with a believable reason why??

I mean, come on!  Who would buy that the US Military is under funded??  NO ONE! Continue reading

What would Adolph Sutro think of UCSF cutting down 30,000 out of 45,000 trees that he planted over 100 years ago.

So, the past week or so,  the media reported that UCSF is about to cut down approx. 30,000 out of the 45,000 trees that stand in Mount Sutro forest.  This is a forest of eucalyptus trees that was planted over 100 years ago by Mr. Sutro of Sutro bath‘s fame.  He was the main developer and land owner of these western lands when SF was being built.  He even built himself a railroad line all the way out to the beach where his mansion sat on the bluff above the Cliff House (which he built… several times after each one burned down) in order to bring tourists out to enjoy his baths, the cliff house and the ocean.   Continue reading

SAN FRANCISCO (…

Quote

SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS) – San Francisco’s Board of Supervisors welcomed its two newest members on Tuesday while also re-electing Board President David Chiu.

Chiu was unanimously re-elected after supervisors Jane Kim and Malia Cohen withdrew their nominations. This is his third term as board president. Seen mostly as the board member that leans toward the moderate to conservative side, Chiu was facing potential challenges from Kim and Cohen, but neither could muster the necessary six votes needed to win the majority of the 11-member board. The so-called progressives were helped by an interesting ally, Rose Pak, a close friend of Mayor Ed Lee and Chinatown political powerhouse.

Pak, who had a falling out with Chiu over his decision to run for mayor last year and his opposition to the 8 Washington project, worked to sway the remainder of the board. She already had support from John Avalos and David Campos. But Scott Wiener, who was also seeking the presidency, threw his support behind Chiu and new Supervisor Norman Yee, seen as a key vote, did the same.

Yee and London Breed, the board’s newest supervisors, were sworn-in on Tuesday along with the rest of their colleagues.

You can hear Phil Matier’s comments Monday through Friday at 7:50am and 5:50pm on KCBS All News 740AM and 106.9FM.

How is it that Rose Pak is the one in charge of all of our elections? They used to keep her name more behind the scenes but lately, like now… here it is. Unabashedly used to basically tell us what we already know but for those that dont believe it… Here it is in black and white…. the woman who REALLY runs all of SF govt.

Holiday gift giving just isnt what it used to be. Mostly because they have our cash hijacked once we spend it… Even if it is a gift!

itunes gift card

itunes gift card (Photo credit: 401(K) 2012)

I was having a conversation tonight with a couple of friends about gifts and gift cards as well as exchanges and returns.  After about 5 minutes of discussing the gift card industry and things associated with it (Specifically a gift card i received for christmas early this year.  This was a gift card that came with a gift receipt.)   We started to realize that there was Zero, 0, Zilch. Non, Nada reason for one to be included with the card.

Then we started to realize that with the implementation of Gift Receipts, even if paid for with cash, one can ever only get store credit or an exchange.  With the gift receipt we can never prove that cash was spent on the item because they so graciously leave off form of payment so they can force you to contain the money within their company or store.

Once a gift card is purchased, the money has to go to the store.  You can not change your mind and get any kind of refund anymore.  People used to pay with checks and if you wanted to return something, and you paid by check, they would return to you cash.  Since checks are practically antiquated, the only way to get your money back is to have the original receipt and within that first 7 days, you can free your money in what ever form that you chose to pay with.

Then we started to think about how many BILLION$ and BILLION$ of dollar$ that are floating out there in our wallets, our pockets, the dumpster, the sidewalk, the cushions of the couch etc.  with a small remainder of credit on that very gift card that will NEVER be used.  Just think about the amount of money that is generated on that odd remainder!  That is technically our money still.  But it is already with the company so they really are making a double double double profit.  Profit from the initial gift card purchase and then the mark ups when spent on the items and then the unspent remainder.  All benefiting the company and the company alone.

I remember years back when we didnt like something that we got, we could go back with the tags in place within the seven days and we could get some money.  Nordstrom did this for MANY MANY years to many returners (and scammers) appreciation.

Now i think about how much money is going one way never to be able to come back if it is something we dont want these days.

Now I  can definitely see the benefit of these gift card trading (buy and sell) sites as well as places like ebay and amazon to be able to resell your brand new perfectly unused unwanted item to retrieve some cash said item.

All in all, they are fleecing us dry by the looks of it in a lot of ways, that are less obvious than higher interest rates and inflation.  There are the fees and the 1 way money flow… out of our pockets & into theirs.  It is pretty scandalous and we dont even see it or realize it happening or at least the bigger impact of what these policies truly mean for them stealing our money.

So on this year of gift giving… Do your loved ones a favor… Just give them CASH for godsake!  It is a different time than it used to be.  It is no longer seen as lazy or tacky to give cash.  It is only what we work our whole lives for!  Cash=freedom so you are actually giving them the feeling of freedom when cash is given!

People are not judged by how much they spend, but on what they spend. Give your loved one the right to chose where that hard earned money should be spent.  That way, A. the change stays with them and B. they will have a receipt showing that they paid cash incase they change their mind when they get home.  The bottom line is you are at least giving the windfall to the one you are giving to and not some financial corporation for them to take over the free world with!

Plus.. Cash is pretty!

The REAL reason that they are STILL plugging $$ into a new San Francisco underground route… Straight through Chinatown. Surprise!!

We have this really awesome little local pet store a block down from my house.  It is exactly what a small business should be in my eyes.  It is small but big enough over the years to have expanded into the next door space too.  There is the sweetest gay pair (dont know if they are business partners only or a couple or what but it is definitely their baby!) of guys that run it.  It employees local young folks, they are very knowledgeable, they have great quality pet foods, and they (at least Tony who is born and raised in SF.  The other guy has lived here for the majority of his life if not whole if i had to guess) are fully aware of all of the things and changes that have been and are happening in the city.  They see it for what it is from the eyes of a real established not only resident but also small business owner.  They know what has really been happening in SF even through the glossy PR campaigns put on by the Mayor and his cronies.

The new people that have just flooded into our little (was) utopia, only see it for what it is right this minute with the help of glossy adds from the city PR machine.  They have no understanding or feeling of responsibility towards knowledge of this town, their neighborhood or even their house’s history.  Or,  what had to happen, and who did it, for it to be the way it is now.  Now that they have “discovered” this cute little contemporary city.  If they did actually know about this city and the real players in it, they would definitely

our dear muni underground rail (the J Church here)

get the joke that Tony from Bernal Beast told me today which had me in absolute stitches and actually gave me a visual for a painting.

We were talking about how SF has been hi-jacked and sold-out!  And that the reason that they are STILL spending SO MUCH MONEY to put a muni line underground to go through Chinatown to Fisherman’s Wharf. (i guess cable cars are not enough these days…) until Tony goes…

“building it right to Rose Pak’s house!”  I cant believe i didnt think of that!  That makes SO MUCH SENSE!!

And, for all of those newbies who just flooded into this town, You better find out fast who Rose Pak is because she yields more power than our scandalous mayor Ed Lee.  She and Willie Brown work hand and hand and they have been running this town through both Gavin Newsom’s tenure as well as our fake-a-mayor Lee.

Anyway, for those of you in the know, you should find that joke funny.  AND ironic/true!  I want a muni line to my front door step!  Too bad i am not rich and powerful and Chinese!

Citizens of San Francisco, Dont be fooled! Vote NO ON C!!!

This whole bullshit they are trying to sell us is truly one of the greediest propositions on the ballot this year. They want US to fund THEM building some cheaply built cheaply constructed but Expensive to buy homes for San Francisco.  If i am not wrong, the housing market is doing pretty well in SF, but it has quite a bit of availability still.  Instead they are using the hysteria of the rental market and trying to get you to give them your money so they can get more rich and more people will then move into this already packed city.  This is not Tokyo or Shanghai.

In fact, Dear San Francisco Citizens, i believe that this year, there should not be a yes vote for anything that wants our money.  They can just sit on it for 6 more months and let us see where the economy is then.  It will be an important message to be spoken… That every time there is an election, they will not automatically make the dough that they are trying to trick us into thinking that we need so desperately off of a trickely written ballott mesure.  We are paying so much now, where is our money going?  They show us that first before they get anymore… because i dont see new schools or low income assistance or dental or vision care for the poor.  Just where is this $ gone??

By the way, i noticed something this week that leaves me in disbelief.  I can truly not believe that that our fucking city officials allowed… The view of the  TRANSAMERICA BLDG. got COVERED UP BY UGLY ASS HIGH RISES!!  When approaching SF from the south (as in around Hospital Curve), coming from the airport etc, you can not see our SF landmark anymore!  Can you believe it??

Coming into SF from the south is the most common way to get to the city.  Very limited people actually come from marin to enter SF considering.  So, instead of lowering the height on the hi-rises that went up around Transamerica, or allowing a little window of viewing so it can be seen on approach to SF, they just blocked it right out.  Now the only way to see our SF icon is… are you surprised… from the rich residences and the north waterfront.  Just goes to show, they care so little about the regular people here in SF that we dont even deserve to see our landmark anymore.  Just sad.ImageSee the big brown bldg that sticks way up there on the right?  Thats the bofa bldg. Our tallest in SF.  Transamerica is just to its right.  Right behind those ugly boring cheaply constructed glass towers.  BOO ON YOU CITY HALL!  Now we have to wait for an act of god to fix it!

It is not your usual fleet week in San Francisco and here is why… Something smells (again!) fishy when it comes to our terrible mayor Ed Lee and his sweetheart back room deals!

Blue Angels over SF

As i am approaching 20 years living here in San Francisco, i have always been very aware and involved in our city’s politics and events (and just general city issues).

There are a few things that one can count on like clockwork here in SF.  Fleet week has been one of those things.  They have had their week down to a science and (up until this week) here is how it goes down….

  1. It always falls on Columbus Day weekend.
  2. The Blue Angels fly into SF usually on Wednesday night.  You will see aircraft high up in the sky (i have always assumed that they were taking their measurements and plotting their landmarks as well as checking out the city. ) They always fly high on this first wednesday night.
  3. Thursday… the fun day!  Thursday seems to be somewhat of  a free day.  Back in 1994, they took this “play” to a whole new level by zooming tall buildings and flying back and forth UNDER the bridges.  Drivers were having nervous breakdowns getting sonic boomed from below!  There were concerns that accidents would be caused by this.  The workers in the (then) tallest buildings were having their nerves were shot by having an F16 fly 100 feet past their office windows 40 floors up.

Blue angels flying low under the bridge

(on a personal note, this year in 1994, my dad and i happened to be visiting my Grandma who at the time lived  on the top floor apt. across the street from the Comstock bldg on Jones st. (the very top block of Nob Hill).  I swear to god it was like they flew 3 yards over our heads.. I thought it had killed my grandma and i have (still to this day) NEVER seen my dad jump so far and so fast in my life.  We got the noise before we could see the plane and they were sonic booming us big time!)  After that, the city decided that there would be no more of that.  The fun thursday play day free for all was OVER.  It was still a free day, but they had distances that they had to fly above and under the bridges was OUT. (if i see a plane fly under a bridge this weekend, it will be absolute proof that money is the only thing talking with this admin.).  They also could not go more than so many mocks fast.  No right overhead sonic booms unless it was part of the routines.  That was the last time i have seen a plane fly under the bridge or fly that low that fast.  They decided it was just too distracting and dangerous and nicked it.  Put down the rules.

4. Thursday night you can see the Blue Angles doing their serious plotting and surveying in the night sky for their routine for the following 3 days.

5.  Friday (i like to see it as a locals performance) they do their routine like it was the show.  If you are a local and you love (you either love or hate the Blue Angels.  I personally have always loved them!) them, Friday is the day to go over to TI or Twin Peaks and watch the show without all the crowds and traffic.  It is the exact same routine that they do for the masses on Saturday and Sunday.

6. Saturday and Sunday, they fly on time every time and do the routine that was seen on Friday.

7. Monday (always having been labor day) there are no planes flying but Fleet Week is in full effect still.  Good time to go see the Jeremiah O’Brian or one of the big ships that have come for the event.

an angel and one of the little zippy planes that fly the course in the bay.

And, let me note, there are usually between 4-7 f16′s that fly in the Blue Angels each year during fleet week.   There are also a bunch of other planes that have performances here too.  Old ww2 prop planes, little rocket type jets that Red Bull uses in their air races (they have a course usually over the water that they have to fly around this flag and over to that one etc. and it is timed.  They are small and super fast and extremely maneuverable.  Like little rice rockets!) as well as sometimes Fat Albert, the big WW2 transport jet (i personally LOVE Fat Albert!).  So, the F16′s are by far not the only airplanes in SF to fly, but they are the dominating strength that is felt by the people on the ground.

Infamous Fat Albert

So, how is this year different?  I will tell you how. Mayor Ed Lee decided to cash in on this event and use it as a lure and a perk when negotiating the bringing over of all of these big tech firms.  I am sure of it!

To start, instead of coming in on Wed. night like always, this year, on the Sunday night BEFORE Labor Day, our skies were FILLED with planes. (normally this is the night that the planes are leaving to go back to wherever they came from.)

I counted close to at the very minimum, 20 planes flying low and slow and clearly with no rules over the sky.  The planes were EVERYWHERE that night.  Because it was not Fleet Week, i did not realize that the next day was even labor day.  I kinda got freaked out and relieved when i heard it was going to be Fleet Week the coming week. (by the way, this night happened to be an incredible blue (full) moon).

I heard them flying up until 4:00am.  This is unusual.  ESPECIALLY 3 whole days before they always have arrived! and every night and day infact since Sunday night, the planes have been all over the SF skies.

The following night, after it cooled down (it was 91 deg. f. in SF that day.  It was squelching!) i went for my hike up and around Bernal Hill.  During that walk, it all came together for me.  I know why what has worked like clockwork… a well oiled machine had fallen so far outside their usual doings.  It all came back to our horrible mayor Ed Lee (who shouldnt even be mayor because when he was appointed by Gavin Newsome, he had repeatedly said  (yes even promised!) that he was not going to try and run for Mayor.  Right before the election (and may i note, after the other candidates had been spending their budgets on their campaigns, in comes Lee with the deep pockets of Rose Pak and former (lets just call it as it really is… STILL our mayor but from behind the curtain) Willie Brown to “power campaign” for him over the last 2 weeks.  Somehow, he cut in line and won the post.)  (However, although not reported, i heard a LOT of incidents that could have definitely been considered voter fraud, from having workers telling the voters who to vote for to losing ballots.  If he wasnt being placed from the inside or it was any of the other candidates, there would have been an investigation i am sure of it!  I personally did my own little test and in asking, i found NOT 1 SF resident that actually voted for Lee.)

the mighty Blue Angels

Anyway, Brown is well known as being Super corrupt and selling out SF.  He did this yes, however, he did it with some flair and style.  He was personable and made it feel like he was working for you not just having his back pocket wide open and filling (although everyone knows that his pocket was getting stuffed.  EVERYONE!) It is kinda part of his legacy.

Mayor Lee is trying to be Willie with the chrisma of a grapefruit.  It is a total “pay to play” administration.  And Ed Lee, has been getting PAID.  The only thing he seems to have time to do since obtaining office seems to be funneling money into his pockets.  He has made just about as many backroom sweetheart deals (selling to the highest bidder of course!) so far in his term than Brown did in an entire term during his reign.

Who know what was put on the table as an incentive to companies like Twitter, AirBnB, Zynga etc. to talk them into moving their headquarters to SF, but as of this weekend, i am able to see one of the incentives….  Full moon city flights with full access to all of the airspace over SF. a whole week before Fleet Week as well as the same week as Oracle’s anual big trade show or party or whatever it is.  I also heard that Cloud had a conference this week.  It makes sense.

I imagine that a few of those planes up there flying on our tax dollars also contained a few big campaign contributers since it is after all an election year.

Why push back fleet week a week?  Just for that reason… full moon, holiday weekend, 2 major tech events happening in the city between the Sunday night flights and the Saturday daytime air show.  There are some big heavy pay off’s being handed out this week.  I can feel the corruption bubbling out of the city this week.

So, to finally answer the question i posed earlier, after 18 years of Fleet Week being a clockwork routine, why this year is it not the usual…  Because it is part of the political ass kissing and back pocket revenu building the mayor has created to help sell out the soul of the city while he gets rich and probably powerful.

At least when Willie Brown was fleecing the city, he did it looking super suave!  Lee is a plain, dumpy, not very well spoken, want-a-be.  However regardless of his less than minimal people skills to his public and his unmatching disheveled appearance, he seems to be siphoning off the hard earned tax dollars and political pay outs with ease.

(Considering how much of his own pocket he has lined since his short time as our pathetic soulless mayor, he could at least get a decent looking tie and a haircut!)

I now am watching the skys with more than just how cool the planes are in my mind.  I am seeing the outcome of some of the perks that he gave out in order to appear to be amazing at brokering big tech to set up shop at our house of SF.  So, they bring in tax money to help replace all the loot he has spent making it feel like SF is the Google of employers with slides and everything!  (Slides that slide our hard earned cash into his personal coffers!)

Anyway, i hope all of this BS ass kissing has not effected the focus of the air squads. I  know that our Blue Angels have had to do more this year away from their own performance to assist with these deals.  Lets just hope that they have not filled their week with so much other bullshit that something goes wrong because there was just too much distraction going on up above our heads!

I will just have to wait and watch and hold my breath which is really more like steam because i am so angry about the state of our elected politicians, and hope that there is nothing that goes wrong.  (i know technically it already has, but this time i mean an accident.).

I heard something very disturbing on the news this afternoon… Check this out….

I was cleaning out my vacuum today and had the news going on in the background.  Now i noticed this interesting fact back in the 1990′s and that is is that if the news uses key words in phrases they hear a lot and are kinda conditioned, they will hear what is being said even if it makes absolutely no sense… and not notice that the words do not match up.  Basically we tend to kinda multitask listen and as long as everything seems to be in order and sounding usual, then, it should be taken as word even if there is no possible way for it to be so….  People hear but do not think.

I think our media outlets takes certain advantages of this fact and in turn actually conditions us to not be alarmed (or more likely to be VERY alarmed!) and without paying real attention to the meaning of these words, they get comfortable with them.  That way it is already in their brain bank and without even any mental review.  They hope that most of us are doing this half listening because we hear what they emphasize unless we are actually paying attention ( i really think this is not the case when words are read which is why it is so sad and scary to think of no independent newspapers!).

Anyway, back to what i heard them say today off the cuff but with the usual amount of urgent alarm we have been programed to be expecting for the last 20 years.

I heard the news anchor here in San Francisco say that (and i did not hear this wrong!) that Mississippi, Georgia and Louisiana declared a state of emergency in PREPARATION of hurricane Isaac’s approach.  Now this was like the noon news or something because about 20 min. later, i heard the actual weather report and they had declassified the hurricane to a class 1 and said that it had not come together with as much velocity as they had expected it to do by that phase.  Now, that does not mean that there will not be another hurricane hitting any one of those states OR that anyone should forget Katrina and not take the possibility seriously… but in preparation of the hurricane?  When a state files for state of emergency, it is really a political/financial thing that opens up FEMA funding and resources to the state.  I can understand why each one of our states feels like we are in a state of emergency with our bad roads and crappy schools, and would love some federal funding unexpectedly come in especially on an election year.

Those politicians are probably paying themselves back for having to change all of those republican convention travels and all of those newly shortened speech.  Speechwriters, i am assuming, are not exactly cheap.  ESPECIALLY for a politician!

Anyway, i was just wondering if anyone else here in the US noticed this strange first.  Things are really revealing themselves here.  We are not in control anymore and it is in a sense a 1% free for all while humanity falls back into the controlled dark ages.  IT SUCKS!

I find it (not surprising but…) very frustrating that i can not seem to find ONE actual poll that i could vote on the Ross Mirkarimi situation…

But i sure do find a lot of articles referring to these so called “polls”.  Where are these elusive polls exactly?  I want to know!  I have lived in San Francisco for approaching 2 decades and have voted in EVERY ELECTION not missing one (i feel or should i start to say felt that it was my civic privilege)  and have been in even almost every hard years hard print phone book until they pretty much stopped making them for residential.  I have been RIGHT HERE!  Where was my opportunity to give my vote?  I already did it once officially.  They dont seem to want to honor that one.  But when you say “the residents of San Francisco have answered the poll on Ross Mirkarimi’s future”, DONT.  Because that is not what i feel and it is not what the majority of people i have spoken to around the neighborhood feel (strangers… no… neighbors, but small talk in the checkout line type talk, not talk with my own group of friends who would most likely at the very least know how i feel about this and feel at least some points are valid.  These are the people in my little community of Bernal Heights mostly.).  I am really sick of these “credible news sources” taking a poll of probably 35 of the people in their own lunch room and say it is how the citizens of SF feel.  And then when i take time out to actually search out one of these polls so my voice could be heard with the rest, i can not find a single one!?!  INFURIATING!!

It makes me worried about the fate of this beautiful thing that i take advantage of practically every day called FREE SPEECH!  First it is the vote of the people to go, then their right to speak out about it!  We will be living like they did under Stalin soon at the rate we are going!!

BOOOO!!!

An open letter to San Francisco Supervisors. This vote against Mirkarimi will show if you have been bought off too. We are watching!

San Francisco has been a part of me since before i was ever born.  I came here at least every month as a child and teen because my grandma lived here and we were pretty much her only family.  My parents met while my dad was working at Perry’s the first year they opened in the 1960′s while my mom, she worked at The Cooperage.  And not only that!  I am also an ancestor of Levi Strauss, Sigmund Stern and Daniel Koshland Sr. and Jr. as well as the Haas’s.

My ancestors helped build this city that has been my home ever since i could get away after graduating high school down in Santa Cruz.  I have lived here in San Francisco myself now approaching two decades.  It was always home.  There was never any question.  It was the place i could be me and feel inspired not shunned.

What made this town so different was its modern, diverse, and accepting, progressive mindset.  It was like a little european city right here in America.  Free thinking, individual, intelligent, independent and accepting of all and anything no matter if it was not just like you or me.  It had this sense of class and worldly-ness about it.  It was beautiful in physical aspects but also in its symbiotic diversity.  I was so fucking proud to have had the path that lead me to this place that i have been researching this town just to know it as well as i possibly can ever since.

I sit here with anger, shame and fear in my heart after seeing the representatives of my fair wonderland bow to the political pressure that this conservative hijacking has laid on.  Shame on you!  You work for us.  I know that your future career moves and possibilities is i am sure important, but you have sold out and sold us down the river to big money and political wranglings.  When exactly did we swap out the leaders of our people who knew what was right and what was WAY WRONG for those that are willing to go against the want of their own people or the government bylaws?

You know it, I know it and a lot of other long term or just saine and aware people know it… that this is a witch hunt.  To get out a progressive who would actually hold some power so that you can cash in on the selling out of this city.  You should be feeling a little twitch in the base of your abdomen when you read this because you know it is the truth and you know it is YOUR selling out that is doing long term detrimental harm to us all.

I lived in 94117 for about 14 of the last 2 decades and let me tell you.  We LOVED having Ross Mirkarimi as our district rep.  He was out in the neighborhood all the time.  He was approachable and always had time to talk with anyone who wanted to talk with him even if he was having a coffee or going somewhere.  He IS a great leader who TRULY CARES FOR SAN FRANCISCO.  Or at least what we all thought San Francisco was.

You all alone, are solely responsible for tearing a family apart.  Both parties were forcibly separated for political reasons.  That is far more abuse than any single piece of this actual situation.  You should feel sick.  You should feel the shame.  You should know that with every dollar of OUR money that you spend and or make, make you are a fraud.

You have one more chance to make things right.  One last vote to allow Ross Mirkarimi to keep his well earned job.  You know that the guidelines for having him removed have not been met.  If there is one progressive left out there with deep pockets to back him, he could take it all the way to the top courts in this state and would win and you know it.  Prove to us, YOUR REAL BOSSES, the CITIZENS, that you still have a kernel of credibility and gusto and vote for what WE WANT AND VOTED FOR!!  You have no right to take away our vote.  You rendered the citizens vote worthless and the reprocussions of that reach farther than you or even your generation could possibly know.  Do NOT hand over this last piece of utopia to those who are truly evil because greed is their motivation!  Please!  Please let our votes be heard!

Please do not vote Ross Mirkarimi out of office!  Dont break the hearts and souls of your people.  Show us why San Francisco is so great!  …Or show us that there is nothing left here.  Nothing.  No soul, no voice, no pride. Nothing.

Please dont break the dreams for many by giving in to this coup!  I beg you!

Thank you for listening.  I am counting on you to think for yourself and vote with your conscience in clear view.  Every move you make is going to determine wether you are a worthy leader or a fraud.  We are watching very carefully.  This is your only chance at salvaging any possible reputation you may have with us, the citizens who know this town and KNOW what you are actually so far, getting away with, is a SHAM!

The vote of the people has got to be worth something to you all.  It is afterall what you needed in order to be in this position that you are now in.  If you take away our vote and the power and credibility of our vote, please think about how many generations that are still to come that you are taking from.  This is not just about the now, not about Ross Mirkirami.  This is about the basic foundation that created this country to be what we all think (or thought) it was.  The free vote of the people.

I understand how on a national scale, the power of the people has little power, but in our very own neighborhoods, it is crucial!  It is the only way to have a composed functioning metropolis.  This is so important i just do not know what else i could try to say in order to impress this to you.

Please DO NOT VOTE TO REMOVE ROSS MIRKARIMI FROM OFFICE.  If that is what was to happen, you would have to be then knowingly not going by the legal guidelines to do so.  So you would be making up the laws as you go and that is NOT democracy!

We will wait and watch and pray that we still have the city we all love so much and not another plastictopia.

Thank you for your time!

Sincerely,

Emelie Koshland

Why can’t we find someone who can think and speak like this, to run for president?? Kinda makes our current candidates seem kinda shady? No?

As i have been trying to rack my brain all afternoon trying to think of what i wanted to share with you today… It has been painful and pretty unfruitful. Thank goodness for me, i prepare for days just like this, and i dig deep into the vault of most insane most incredible most coolest things and sometimes some really cute things too. (i am a sucker for cross species friendship… beware. you have been warned!)

Anyway, this is a video of a news story that came out a few years ago back in 2008, but just 4 years later, is not THAT long ago. I have a feeling not too much has changed.

So all you ladies in the house, unless you are from Russia of course!… Be thankful for where you have to exist because i sure would not want to be a single mom or professional woman in that country!!

Happy Saturday!

Is it time we revert to 90′s era activism, like altering billboards? Brilliant regardless.

Is it time we revert to 90's era activism, like altering billboards? Brilliant regardless.

There was a time in the early-mid 90′s here in SF where this group would alter already posted billboards. They were BRILLIANT!! Considering the absolute greed and money based culture that has seemed to have taken our town hostage over the last decade, maybe it is time for us to get more proactive again. It has been proven time and time again, that the money makers want to exploit this beautiful city. And they do! It has been a tug-o-war since Yerba buena found gold between those that want to exploit her and cash in on her unique attitude and beauty, and those who help make up that attitude and beauty, the actual residents… especially the long term ones.

San francisco used to be both a place for old timers that had so many awesome stories and everybody in the neighborhood knew and a very transient population that are short-long-termers. I always used to say that this town either accepts you or it chews you up and spits you out. It is not your choosing. I still believe this is how the city used to be. It was the place that people would go to find themselves, or to work for a couple years or to play for a while. Most of them would not stay, but the ones who did, they were special. They were also very proud and steadfast locals. They did not need a lot more from life. This is about as good as it got. They tried to really work to keep the greed out.

This is a town that attracts greed, because one could sell out this town to no ends. However, if that were to happen, to start with it would never be the same town. It may look similar, but the soul would have gone. Only a cheap greed built shell that housed no heart and 0 soul! It is so easy to do though. We have helped to build what i consider my utopia. It is home. More than the home i even grew up in. Not particularly a neighborhood, but the city in itself. I always seem to take a huge exhale as soon as i reach home whenever out of town.

I am very nervous though. It is gentrifying right before my very eyes! From a sneak in job winning mayor to the costs of rent to the attack on Sheriff Mirkirami. It is very apparent what is going on here if we (whatever locals are left) kneed to begin to organize and fight back. We can not allow our city to be turned out for the highest bid just lying down! I know we have had to fight this fight before, but we can not just give up. This town deserves us to fight for her. She is so worth it!

The reason you MUST vote NO on prop. 29 California!!

In an era of economic instability and financial collapses both on the large scale and in families lives around the US, we have seen greed on a scale that hasn’t been seen in DECADES.  It has become so egregious that it has gone after all and any funds that they can get ahold of.

This means that YOUR hard earned money has been hijacked by someone.  Many people in fact.  But all of that money (the almost 50% of earned income tax, the general funds, the inflation, the energy and gas industries etc) does not just evaporate.  It has to actually be somewhere.  Where could ALL OF OUR MONEY GO??  It has gone to the ones that have been overtaken by a greed of an unseen magnitude.

It has so far been successful and a LOT of people that used to have savings and or a home and or a job and or good schools and or well kept infrastructure, now are living hand to mouth or is on life support.  The separation between the rich and the poor is getting farther and the middle class is disappearing because of things EXACTLY like Prop 29.

This is one of the more brazen attempts to steal your cash on some bullshit presumption disguised as some smoking research farce.  This is simply a legal request for us, Ca. taxpayers, to give our money over to a small group of people that are going to take that money (our money) out of the state and even the country to build labs so that they can do genome testing (which, if you didnt know, is VERY lucrative and VERY competitive for the control of the pattens of every discovered genome’s function. )  I personally believe that this has very little to do with cancer.  If it did, they would be using funds to treat or help with succession of smoking… OR criminalizing the TOBACCO INDUSTRY.  Not their victims.  Who of course are more likely to be the poor.  Surprise surprise!

This prop does not allow the chairman to be audited to start with.  The structure of the proposition can not be changed for 15 (yes that is fifteen!!) years making it until 2027 to change any of its rules or the way it is run.  It allows a board to be hired and the chairman to acquire what ever staff at what ever salaries the board chairman decides as well as to build or acquire what ever property and supplies needed  that the chair requests.  Basically it is a free money dispersement plan where one guy gets a group of his crooked greedy cronies to be “hired” so he can pay them whatever “salaries” he choses to give and build whatever facilities to do what? who knows!

The taxpayers of California are already seriously in the red here.  We have had our schools lose their music, sports and art programs all while condensing classes into super large classes.  Our roads and bridges are falling apart.  Our police and fire are seeing major closes.  We are selling off state parklands and buildings for godsake!  We clearly just recently got swept out.  No one seems to have the cash… the people, the governments, the non profits.  It has been flowing out of california at a hemorrhaging rate over the last decade especially.

How can we justify voting yes on prop 29 when our own communities need that same money oh so badly?   No matter how much you hate smoking, this is not going to do a damn thing to stop or help stop smoking.  It is more like it is funding a smoke screen!

If you want to make a difference and give more of your own money away, donate it to something that actually helps with the issue of smoking.  Please do.  Send it to the American lung assoc.  Or the local non-profit emergency clinic in your own community.. even better!

But for most of us (i believe or at least hope!), we do not think that studying smoking in a lab in Bangladesh is going be at the top of our lists of to do’s when feeling a little extra flush!  And, i am going to be really disappointed if the citizens of the State of California are so ignorant and lazy that they watch a commercial or read a corporate sold out newspaper to base their decision and on 3 seconds of campaign propaganda.

If you do not believe me or want to find out for yourself if i am lying, PLEASE go read the actual proposition.  Not the arguments for or against it but the writing of the proposal.  Then tell me that you feel comfortable sending our state further into its debt abyss!

PLEASE VOTE NO ON PROPOSITION 29 IN CALIFORNIA!!

What has happened to the SF Bay Guardian?? I think it has been hijacked by the NIMBY elite!

Image

As i was reading this weeks edition of the San Francisco Bay Guardian, after the first story i read about the Haight’s recycling center (Reduce, Reuse, Replace May 30-June 5, 2012) i read on.  Out of the next 5 articles i read, 4 of them were not written about the city or reviewed by someone even in the city!  Lets start with Wall Up, Joints Down.  This is about a pot shop in GERMANY!  WTF?!

Then i went on to read L.E. Leone’s Fit As A Fig article.  This is an article that is talking about things that they did on their birthday in NEW YORK!  About 2/3 of the way through it goes on to its restaurant review..  Word for word here… “Oh, hey, this reminds me about Blue Fig on Valencia St….  WTF??!!  Bad form to write about a vacation and a 4000 mile away restaurant review.  Why did they not get a fill in for the vacationing writers??

Now onto Deep Dish by MARKE B.  It is in the Arts+Culture+nightlife section, but it is so bizarre.  They are hinting at the fact that they are talking about the windy city.  It has been windy here, so it was possible, but, no… they WERE talking about Chicago.  The article has nothing to do with anything.  It would make for a better blog post for a creative writer… NOT good for a SAN FRANCISCO LOCAL RAG!

And Finally.  I KNOW i know!! that our paper for the people has been hijacked because they are voting YES on prop 29!!!   This is the most corrupt proposition since PG&E did their counter 2 props to try and confuse voters from voting for public power.  THIS ONLY TAKES A LOT OF CA. RESIDENTS MONEY AND PUTS IT INTO THE POCKETS OF ALREADY SUPER RICH ASSHOLES THAT ARE PLANNING ON TAKING IT OUT OF STATE TO USE.  THEY SAY IT GOES TO CANCER RESEARCH BUT NO CANCER TREATMENT!!  AND it can not be audited or changed for 15 years!  This is another political money grab from the societal villans with another sin tax.

Image

Let me say something about sin taxes.  You may find a sin that you are opposed to and you vilify it and make the sinner a villan for doing what they want (which in turn usually only hurts themselves if at all).  Be careful about casting stones.  Your vice (and everyone has something that they rely on that if society choses to do an anti PR campaign against is going to put you into the villan role too.)  It is a dicy thing to be doing to our fellow neighbors if you want there still to be legal crack (caffine, sugar) and your extra value meals etc.  Tomorrow, they could be the thing that is killing every toddler and YOU are helping the demise of society.  No one likes to be made an outcast of society because they have a bad habit.  We all have them, some are more visible than others and some are way more destructive.  I would rather have a smoker live next door any day than have to live next to a guy who beats up his wife.  Just because they guy who is a beater doesn’t get exposed, you look to him as a pillar of society while the poor quiet smoker poet is cast to the hallows.  There is something very dangerous and ignorant to think that people who have lives that could include addiction should have their savings extorted to some bastards because they drugged this person early on and they are fully clinically addicted.  If you want to hate on smoking, outlaw cigarettes, and their tobacco companies.  Do not vilify the victims of the tobacco companies after the companies themselves victimized them in the first place.  Why is this so hard to see?  Well, it wont be if and when it happens to you with one of your most desired vices!

Ok. It is time to call out San Francisco Govt. on its quest to rid its self of all progressive(s)

Ok.  Lets just call the big pink elephant in the room out.  It is so obviously clear that there is a strong movement coming from the anals of our high ups in the corrupt world of politics & greed.  Now SF looks like a circus in the world views of city govt. all in order to squeeze out ANYTHING standing in their way of under the table deals, political back scratching and money making crony appointments.

It started with our dear mayor Ed Lee.  Lee was appointed to the post upon the early departure of sitting mayor Gavin Newsom.  When this happened, Mr. Lee made NUMEROUS promises not to actually run for the position when his appointment ended.  He waited until most of the candidates had burned out most of their funds to campaign with and then came on with HEAVY heavy advertising.  He also (and most importantly) had the backing of the political powers that (although not in office, hold more power than those in politics now) can hand anyone that they chose the position.  Some of these powerhouse names include Mr. Willie Brown, Ms. Nanci Pelosi, Gavin Newsom and his backers the Gettys to name a few.  Needless to say, Ed Lee somehow won the mayoral election although i do not personally know of one single person who did vote for him (which doesnt mean a thing i know.)

Next it was the vicious attack on Sheriff Elect Ross Mirkirami and the BS domestic violence charge and the character slaughtering of our former Supervisor in the court of public opinion.  I of course do not condone any act towards women of violence… However, when the spouse of said abuser says publicly that she is NOT being abused and this is a political witch hunt, after watching the BS unfold, i would say she is absolutely right.  When on earth does a DA put into place a protective order for some one other than themselves?  Ms. Lopez said publicly did not want any order of protection put onto Mr. Mirkirami but DA does it anyway, that is shady if nothing else.  The political left is after total domination of the San Francisco govt. landscape and tearing a family apart is just part of the casualties of its war… No big deal right?  NOT!

Now, the most recent in the push out of progressiveness is an ambush on the Sunshine Ordinance.  The Sunshine Ordinance was put into place in the 1990′s as a move towards open government.  Open Govt. is the wave of the future and is oh so needed in maintaining a govt. without egregious corruption.    Greed and corruption is what is taking the soul out of this city to turn a penny for a few powerful players.  This city has had a history with backroom dealings and shady plays.  Every time it starts getting out of control, it takes its toll on the long term residents that have made this place so attractive in the first place.  The Sunshine Ordinance has the requirement of placing a few appointments into our city govt.  However, recently, their appointments of the incumbents as well as well qualified new possibilities for their appointments were denied or to say it in the phrasing of the SF Guardian “refused to seat two candidates” and told them to come back to them with a new list of possible apointees.  It is all messy and super shady and now to me very obvious that OPEN GOVERNMENT AND ANYTHING THAT MAY STAND IN THE WAY OF WHAT THE BIG MONEY PLAYERS ARE UNDER ATTACK AND ARE TRYING TO BE WIPED OUT COMPLETELY.  This is not good at all.

For those who have recently moved to this city, it may not be as apparent to you what is happening.  You may think that all of this city growth and redevelopment areas are great, you are wrong.  Not saying that growth is bad or that building and redeveloping is bad too, but when it is to eradicate an entire community that has been living in their neighborhood for generations just to get greedy hands on that lucrative property it is WRONG.  This has been done to every single corner of our city except the lower eastern corner of Bayview/Hunters Point and Visitation Valley (vis. valley has been spared due to its such south local.)  This is systematically ridding SF of more of its ethnic residents and their neighborhoods has been going on (think western addition redevelopment) for a LONG time leading us to now where the percentages of black and hispanic populations have been cut down to single digits where in the past, the black and the spanish community has been a major part of the city’s fabric.

It is just like a slow bad dream coming to fruition.  Greed and power has got to be put into check and seen for what it is right now in San Francisco.  We have a heavy and colorful history of fighting against ‘the man’ and hopefully it will continue on in activist movements and rebel voices.  Remember that there is a lot more to any story coming from city hall than they are going to ever advertise.  And that sometimes it is not worth the pretty skyline and high property values to lose its soul and flavor of the great city of San Francisco.

There is something really fishy here with Ross Mirkarimi’s BS DV charges….

When i read this post on KRON 4 News…

Facebook Question: Should Ross Mirkarimi step down from his position as SF Sheriff?

My answer is this:

ABSOLUTELY NOT. Mirkirimi, HOLD YOUR GROUND! You are all us progressives have left to believe in and they are trying to get you out already through the biggest BS slander campaign. Has ANYONE EVER seen a situation where the district attorney files a protective order for another person? She did not want the stay away order and they forcibly imposed it to try and separate this family. When the wife is as outraged as the husband who supposedly “abused” her, about the charges, then this shows me that it is just the inner circle trying to get him gone before he gets a chance to do his HONEST job. Mirkirmi was my district sup. for all the years he was one for the west. add. He was AWESOME! Please people, see this for what it is… A slam campaign to try to force out the guy that may be too honest for those crooks liking. To prove my point, check this out… see anything wrong on this article?

There is a lot more to this story than the press is letting on. It smells SUPER stinky to me. The one that i really want to know about regarding what her motivations were is Ivory Madison, the “80 hour a week workaholic with perfect husband and daughter” (according to her fb page). She stinks up the whole town when it comes to thing smelling fishy! There are personal motivations that are not being discussed here i am sure of it!

It deeply disturbs me that we as a public are still so blinded by the exact same words in 1 single story re published all over and re reported everywhere.  There is a lot more here than meets the eye.  The fact that people think it is ok to treat this man like a brutalizer is just plain crazy.  What was this crazy nosey woman doing filming her neighbors on New Years Eve?  If they did  not know she was filming them, that could be a felony offense.  This whole thing just has the exact footprints of a tacky smear campaign.  The scary thing is, it is being bought as it is being sold onto the best man in our current government in San Francisco.  And, this is coming from an 8th generation SFer who has lived here for 18 years (and in Mr. Mirkarimi’s district for 15 of those 18 years.)  I have seen him in action many times and he is the only rep i ever saw going into his district to shop, dine and just check in regularly.  I am bothered to my core by this bullshit take down campaign.  San ‘Francisco truly has been bought and sold just like the rest of them.  It breaks my heart.  San Francisco was supposed to be grassroots and involved. Not greedy and ignorant.  What is happening here to the closest place that one ONCE could have called Oz?

This is truly hilarious! If only the debate sounded like this… I might want to tune in!

A little vulgar and a little weird, but so so funny!
