Do people have a right to call 911 for a noise complaint during the Super Bowl?

While watching the game this year, i decided it might be interesting to turn on the SF Police scanner and listen to how much mayhem is afoot.

Police motorcycles line up at the 2006 war pro...

It is not yet to the half and things are pretty tame and i would say on the quiet side.  What has been catching my attention is how many code 415 calls there have been.  Code 415 is a noise complaint.

A noise complaint??  SERIOUSLY??  So, you mean that jack hammers, saws, large machinery and all kinds of other daytime sounds are equally as loud if not louder, and there is not big code 415s then.  Do people have a right to call 911 at 4:30 in the afternoon on a sunday when their team happens to be playing at that very moment in the super bowl?

This whole town has the feeling of it being a holiday.  Just as it did during the Giants run to the World series champions.  NO ONE in San Francisco on this Sunday, could possibly NOT know that the Superbowl is on OR that we are IN IT!!

To me, it seems like an extreme waste of resources on a day where there are going to need all that there is.

What do you think?  Am i a biased Super Bowl fan or an insensitive loud ass chick in general, or does this seem ridiculous to you as well.  I would be curious to hear your thoughts.

P.s.  I also actually heard a call due to a dog barking!  A DOG BARKING??  Are we living in a world that thinks that life is silent or should be?  Now i like my peace and quiet too, but daytime is free game.  If all of those builders etc can jack hammer next to my house for 5 hours straight starting at 7:00 am, cant a dog bark for a few minutes on a sunday afternoon?

For the first time EVER it is Brother Vs. Brother going head to head for the Super Bowl… Now, that is a golden family!

Have you ever met anyone who is part of a family that just seems to have it all.  Looks, personality, success and repeating success within any one industry?  I would say that the Williams sisters are within tennis.  The Kennedy’s are within politics.  The Barrymores are within acting.  You get the picture.

These families are rare.  Not many families do all of its members (or most) have success throughout and within one profession.  We could go on for a couple of hours thinking of who others are and there are some, but not too many.  Because if there were, you would personally know at least one.  Most of us do not.

This year the name Harbaugh will have to be added to this super-talent family list.  And in a big way, because they accomplished something that has never been done before.

To start with, Jim and John (sons of Jack) are the first two brothers EVER to be head coach of an NFL team  On top of that, for the first (and maybe last) time ever, THEY WILL BE BATTLING FOR THE SUPPER BOWL!!  That is right.  It is bro vs. bro for the whole shebang!

Jim which is the younger brother of Jack, was recruited from being Stanford’s head coach to sign a 5 year deal with the San Francisco 49ers in 2011.  The first year as the 9ers head coach, he lead them to the NFC championship game, where they lost in a 20-17 overtime score, keeping them out of the Super Bowl for that first year.

This year Jim Harbaugh leads the 49ers to a win over the Atlanta Falcons for the NFC Championship game with a final score 28-24 thus sending them on to the Super Bowl.

Jim’s brother John is bringing his Baltimore Ravens to the Super Bowl by having beaten the Patriots this year (which is the team that they lost to in the AFC Championship game last year.).  The Ravens have been one of the teams that can get it done showing so by the fact that they went to the Playoffs 9 times since 2000.

Both Jim and John have had football in their lives due to the fact that their dad, Jack is the head coach for U of Michigans football team.

SO… A whole entire family of coaches (also to mention, Jacks son-in law, Tom Crean is the head mens basketball coach for Indiana University Hoosiers), how on earth does one within the family pick a team to cheer for.

Who ever would think that a family would be in a situation to have this dilema.  Does this show the truth in favorites or would this create any family tension or just complete family pride?

I tell you, i would love to be a fly on the wall when this family sees one another for the first time after the game.  To be so happy for one and so sad for the other would maybe make one feel a bit crazy.  I bet that there is some guilt and jealousy involved in the whole thing wether or not they want and or try to have there be. But also a load of support and honor as well, for both!

I dont know if i will ever in the rest of my life see the stars align to allow Brother vs. Brother for the biggest game of the year in the USA.

I personally (being a San Francisco native,) must pick my dear 49ers to win.  And actually i only really care about them winning this game, this year.  Next year they can lose.  I dont give a shit.

They must win this year because this is the VERY LAST YEAR that they are playing as TRUE SAN FRANCISCO 49ers.  Next year they may be called SF 49ers, but we will all know that they will really be the Santa Clara 49ers.  No more Candlestick park, No more SF local team.  No more playing for the working man.  No.  When they move, the only people who will be able to afford tickets to their new Santa Clara Stadium will be the same group of arrogant aholes that are forcing out the local SF population for high rent and high tech wages.  It is all just another playtime for the rich.

But not this year.  This year they are STILL ours… That is SAN FRANCISCO’s 49ers. And what a way to end an era of SF football… With a Super Bowl win against the Ravens (which wont be an easy win if we do!).

SO GO 9ers!!  Please do it for all of the steadfast old time fans that have been there for you for your duration.  We will be so proud and it will be a gift of thank you to us.  That is the least you could do since you are ditching us.   Right??

the timing of the acusations against Michael Crabtree (of the 49ers) seems somewhat fishy to me….

How ironic that someone claims a sexual assault against a player of the 49ers just 2 days before their big division game that determines which team will go on to the Super Bowl.

Some of the things that seem off are the following….

Timing… the timing of both the alleged attack on Sunday morning (the morning after wining their big playoff game) as well as the timing of when it was reported and Crabtree was taken in for questioning.

Why would anyone be so foolish as to risk their entire career RIGHT before the 2 biggest games of their possible life so far?  Our 9ers pride themselves on behaving with dignity and always have.  This is one of my very favorite traits they have… they are a class act.

The timing of the press release has got to lend to some team distraction which could, in all possibility, throw their game off come Sunday.

My gut instinct is that this is just too convenient and stupid on the players part to be a real claim (if it is, there is nothing i condone about ANY kind of sexual attack.  Don’t get me wrong!) but if it is real, he should be charged with the offense.  IF IT IS NOT LEGITIMATE, Whoever made the false claim, should receive some sort of reprimand.

This to me looks like a clear sabotage stunt.  Why would they not arrest him otherwise?  Thinking about how some people gamble their life savings on things as stupid as a playoff game, i suppose i could see the desperation in head that could possibly make someone make such false claims.  But to accuse someone of something so socially charged as a sexual assault, they BETTER have the proof and hard evidence to back it up or we need to get to the root of who tried to compromise our team right before the division game.

I dont like it one little bit!  I smell something fishy!

our SF Giants are truly our Halloween super stars and the MLB World Series Champions in a complete sweep! GO GIANTS!!

SF Giants 2012 World Series Champions!

Today i wake up the fan of the 2012 World Series Champions in sweet San Francisco.  When we won in 2010, the city was electric.  We had waited over 50 years to win the championship and it was the first win since their move out of New York.  We had waited DECADES for that win and for those of us that have been lifetime Giants fans from the days when their record was not so strong and you had to freeze your behind off while paying $16 for bleacher seats at Candlestick Park to the super plush brand new winning record playing at SBC Park, the win was long overdue so, needless to say, that was very exciting!

However, here we are in 2012.  Just 3 seasons apart so the buzz of the 2010 win was still fresh and on (at least my) mind still.  Felt like it just happened yesterday.  But then i remember that last season, we lost Buster Posey to an injury early on in the season and we had not acquired several of our teams outstanding players yet to bring us to today… The perfect team.  The team of winning misfits.  I feel a little bit like the Giants represent what San Francisco used to be like more than it seems to be like today with their oddball characters and support through the diversity.

A well deserved moment of victory between Buster Posey and Sergio Romo.

Today, EVEN without Brian Wilson as one of our secret (not so) weapons, our San Francisco Giants 2012 postseason team may be the most epic eclectic group of talent that exists in baseball today.  From our MVP and one of the fan proclaimed mascots of our Panda (Pablo Sandoval), to Marco Scutero’s coming on strong when we needed him to and , of course the most epic all around player and maybe the league’s best catcher they’ve ever had Buster Posey, to the super intense Angel Pagan and super fast Gregor Blanco, to our new oddball and inspirational addition to our team Hunter Pence, and our local boy Brandon Crawford, …to our amazing pitching staff.  Lincecum, Cain, Bumgarner, Adfelt, Voglesong, the VERY deserving Barry Zito and the most awesome Wilson replacement closer Sergio Romo.  (Maybe it was the power of those dimples that made each close like lightning).  Regardless it was the perfect storm of come behind kids to world champ sweepers.

It is interesting that the Detroit Lions swept the NY Yankees and then we swept Detroit.  We were on a roll that no one could stop.  We fixed our glitch of being able to win post season at home and we were able to hold off any chance the Lions had of catching up by playing such tight baseball.

It was such an exciting post season, from the come from behind win with the Reds to the absolute tromping of Detroit, it was definitely the fan’s dream season.  It should be an AMAZING team next year with Wilson back on the roster and Milkey out of restriction.  I personally can not wait to watch.

Mattresses set on fire on Mission Street

I know this type of win often leads to mass hysteria and sometimes self destruction of their own winning city.  I never understood why this extreme happiness ends up in vandalism and destruction of their own city.  But, that is of course, what happened last night in the Mission.  Mattresses were set on fire (again!), city streets were flooded with people and shut down, and i even heard that they had a bus in SOMA that had a single passenger inside, where people had surrounded it and were on the roof jumping up and down and people around it pushing it from side to side.  It must have been utterly terrifying!  Why would we do this to another possible Giants fan and at least a SF visitor or resident?  We vandalized our small businesses and generally trashed our city.  So i guess there are a lot of rebel idiots left in San Francisco unless they (probably) came in as a bridge and tunnelers.  That would make more sense for outsiders to get wasted and trash NOT their city.  Regardless, i wish the citizens and fans in SF could try and show as much class and grace as our players and manager Bruce Bochy always do.  We need to work a little bit harder to show the same level of class as the team that incited that reaction in the future if you ask me.

vandalism on Mission St.

That is what i love and have always loved about our SF teams (both the 9ers and the Giants.  (We will see how the 9ers fair after their dodgy steal to Santa Clara and all their new big revenue increases in our boring but rich and jealous neighbors to the south.)

And, i have to give big props to the Detroit Tigers who put on a good series even though they never were able to get a footing.  Their GM interviewed after the loss spoke with more generosity, humility and class to the point that i felt that we were playing the right team.  Both teams were and are class acts and both deserved to be in the world series.  Detroit although did not win, did play a damn good season and will also be a team to watch again next year.

Regardless, SF Giants pride is brimming here in SF.  We can’t seem to win a World Series  game at home, but we don’t care here in San Francisco!  We await the victory parade which will take place on Halloween morning at 11:00 am.  It sure makes a last minute  Halloween costume of being a giants fan an easy one! ;) (We could just say that we came strait from the parade.)  However, i have a feeling that because these two events happen on the same day, we may see a new creative angle on the costumes that will grace our town. (for instance, a friend of mine is planning to be an orange Darth Vader with a SF Giants flag as the cape.  Dont steal the idea SF or i will not share these secrets in the future! ;).

San Francisco City Hall lit in orange in honor of becoming the World Series Champions of 2012! 10,000 people descended upon Civic Center plaza to watch and celebrate the SF Giants final game of 2012.

It will be a SUPER holiday on Wednesday October 31, 2012.  A holiday that is as perfect of a storm as Hurricane Sandy may turn out to be.  Only not in a scary way, but in a joyous and cosmic way, having our Halloween team be honored on Halloween!  We were not always the Halloween team because in 1989, we were in the world series in the middle of October instead of the end of October (remember that day with the battle of the bay that the earth shook?)  We think that the season had to be extended because teams had been added over the years making the season a little bit longer.

Our San Francisco Giants deserve all of the love and honor they have coming to them on Wednesday.  They are a GREAT team!  I personally think the best team we EVER have had.  In part because we are the team of the misfits that came together to create a force that was good enough to win it all.

CONGRATULATIONS SF GIANTS!! YOU HAVE MADE YOUR CITY OH SO PROUD YET AGAIN!  THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF OUR HEARTS!   We cant wait to see what we can do next year, but now, a well deserved rest i have a feeling is needed.

Until next season…. We are current WORLD CHAMPIONS yet AGAIN!!  WOO HOO! WAY TO GO GIANTS!

Santa Clara 49ers? OH HELL NO!!! Something STINKS around that project! How very DARE they steal our SF 49ers! :(

Ok… Considering that the San Francisco 49′ers have not officially made any announcement that they are “officially” leaving San Francisco, I smell something that is stinking of inside deals, behind the scenes financial pats on the backs back and forth and, well, just straight up dodgy ass dealings.

I am personally a 3rd generation 49ers fan.  It was built into me at a young age to love to hate Candlestick.  I do understand that with so many new stadiums with all the amenities out there while our team freezes their butts off  while playing for San Francisco, they need a new stadium.  Especially with the new Giants ballpark… (It is a really amazing little park!) And i understand that they already have their practice and headquarters down in Santa Clara.   I do get it.  I just think the way they went about the whole thing was just tackless and really disrespectfully wrong.

But, now, to be celebrating the ground breaking of the new Santa Clara 49er stadium without ever even having the balls to announce to the loyal loving city of SF, that they called home for so many years, (after their move from Kezar Stadium which IS in san francisco btw)… it is just… excuse my language… BULLSHIT!

9er fans are LOYAL fans. They are San Francisco 49er fans, NOT Santa Clara 49er fans.  It even feels just wrong having to type that.  It is disrespectful to us, the long time loyal fans, that have been so proud to have a team like the 49ers be our representation to the NFL.

This is a GIANT back-room deal with a whole bunch of cronies and fat cats making a FORTUNE out of it.  They also are going to be raising the price of tickets  to skyrocket up, with the new stadium which is going to absolutely make going to a game be an exclusive elite-ist activity for those fat cat 1%.  This last year i looked for tickets to a game and they were going for about $150 as it was.  That was too pricy for my blood so i chose to go to see the Giants instead and watch the games on tv while looking at the stick from my perch on Bernal Hill.  It sucked.  I wanted to go SO bad!  Now i know i will not ever go with prices for tickets being even higher!  They said Seasons tickets at the 50 yrd. line are said to be going for $90,000!

As a native of the bay area and almost 20 year resident of San Francisco, it just seriously hurts my heart to see how much this place has been bought. And in turn, it has sold out.  Completely.   It feels like snobby rich kids just moved onto my block and they are looking down on me.. lonely local resident.  They are the new NIMBY generation of greed and elitists and i hate it.  Just hate it!

What happened to the bohemia that has always been a part of this place.  Along with the unusually accepting freedoms we were known for, we worked hard to keep our old time survivors alive (Mae’s Oysters, Bay to Breakers, Halloween in the Castro etc!).  But they seem to be slipping.  Slipping on ideals greased with dollars, bribing them to be woo’d.  And they are taking the bite!  All while turning public opinion against the morals that ARE this city!

I know i have gone a little off topic of the 49ers, but it really is all emblematic of the soul-less changes that have bought their way through this town in the last 15 years.

Image

It makes me lose pride and actually feel like my bohemia on the bay is quickly slipping through the fingers of what makes this place what it is and has always been know for.  Freedom and inclusion.  I think the only thing that would make this girl happy, (since, although never stated so, looks like they ARE leaving SF), is to win one last superbowl (or two but that may be asking too much!) before we have to call them traitors because Santa Clara 49ers just hurts to much to say!

Gosh just listening to them talk right now about how they are starting groundbreaking a whole year early so they can be in SClara a year early so they can play there in 2014 makes me sick.  Not only are they stealing our team, but a year early too!!

Maybe an announcement and an apology to all the true loyalists might be a thought, before you tell us how great your stolen team experience is going to be for you assholes down in Santa Clara.  Starting this thing off leaving on a very nasty foot… your true fans have a real foul taste in their mouths because you did not have the balls and class enough to come clean with the fact that the San Francisco 49ers are moving out of San Francisco!  It is hard for me to get too excited for you when all i hear is about all the money and prize that this steal is bringing to another city.  They dont care about the fans, just the fans money!  I think i am going to have to boycott any visit to that stadium period.  It is tainted thanks to Santa Clara’s greed.

…However, i will still go to Great America and Shorline.  They are not on my boycot list. Just what is about to be birthed in their parking lot!

So, here is to you SAN FRANCISCO 49ers… and to the end of a beautiful era of being a team with integrity and fan appreciation!  I will so miss you!
